Hi, I'm Medelyn Martinez Reyes, an Information Security Engineer at Mastercard. I can tell you it still feels unreal every time I say that because a couple of years ago, I was a part of a teaching apprentice program. I have just started my unique mountain climb into security and I'm excited to see how high I climb.

  • Launched in 1984, the SVA Program equips motivated CTE graduates to become teachers in five years, through a partnership between the NYC Department of Education, UFT, and CUNY.
  • As an SVA Program participant, I completed teaching rotations at Queens Technical High School and Urban Assembly Maker Academy.
  • Additionally, I gained industry experience through rotations at NYC Health and Hospitals and the NYC Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications.
